Foreign Affairs bureaucrats were told this spring to produce three terrorism-related statements for minister Rob Nicholson to make to the media each week, ahead of a fall election in which security and Canada's response to terrorism are expected to be key
So, we know what the Conservatives theme for the election will be. "The Politics of Fear."
For us it's reality. You'll get on board as soon as the moslems realize it's easier to hit Canada than the USA.

They tried a couple times already. They can blow each other all they want, over there. Over here, I think they got the message that we don't stand for that kind of Bullshit.
For us it's reality.
Is it though? Watching a TV report of a terror attack in some distant city, which happens maybe once a year or twice a year, doesn't really qualify as your reality.
How about getting accidentally shot by a careless gun owner or purposely shot by some disgruntled loser who goes on a killing spree because he can't get a girlfriend. Or getting a life sentence for selling $10 worth of pot or shoplifting $2 worth of socks. Or if you're Black, getting shot in the back by a police officer.
Those things actually are your reality.
Don't live in fear man, you're more likely to win the lottery while finding a 4-leaf clover and simultaneously getting struck by lightning than being the victim of a terrorist attack. That's just a fact.
And don't act like it's any more dangerous or likely that a nut will kill you for allah than will kill you because he's mad a society and you happened to cross his patch. The latter is probably more likely to happen.
1) 9/11 was 14 years ago. Madrid bombing was 11 years ago. London bombing was 10 years ago. Besides there's always some nutter trying to shoot up the public for one reason or another. If you're not afraid of all the guys doing it because they can't get a date or lost their job then why be afraid of the ones who claim to be doing it for jjihad.
2) The deadliest attack on the general public since those days was the Tsarnaev brothers exploding pot that killed exactly 3 people. I know what some people are about to say: "but what about the soldiers shot at Fort Hood and the 4 marines?" Well let me just remind you that you're no soldier so fear not. Also
3) Canada is not the US, Spain or the UK. The first is a magnet due to it's status as the penultimate western superpower and it's boneheaded foreign policy; while the latter have enormous populations of transient, alienated and radicalized muslims.
I am not afraid.
Will lone nutters still pull off amateur stunts once un a while and kill some people in the name of holy war? Probably. But even if every muslim was vaporized tomorrow there would still be just as much likelihood of being shot up by a lone nutter.
As for super terrorist attacks that take out hundreds, although I won't never, that era seems to have passed. Al Qaeda barely exists and ISIS is almost entirely concerned with fighting land battles in Iraq, Syria and other parts of the Middle East in an attempt to establish their own nation state. Twitter and Facebook posts aside, they are not to date an international terrorist network targeting western nations with elaborate plans for mass casualty attacks. Blowing up a subway station in Toronto doesn't help them, they're trying to militarily capture towns and provinces in the Middle East. in fact it may hurt them because it attracts western military intervention. So a massive terrorist attack by them is technically possible in theory but not plausible.
And anyways, an order to generate 3 terrorist news stories a week leading up to an election is an order to invent news not report news, and in this context is classic CPC fearmongering and abuse of the public service.
Reality now also unfortunately includes Parliament Hill being shot up by a terrorist in what constituted a classic lone-wolf attack. I remain amazed at how quickly that incident, along with the murder of another Canadian soldier who was deliberately run over by a car being driven by a Muslim, have been forgotten by liberals in this country. Hate to say it but we'll probably need to have a Charlie Hebdo event, or a Madrid or London 7/7 incident happen in Canada, with a couple of hundred or so killed, before the Canadian left will take any of this seriously. And even then their first reaction will still be to erupt in "it's all Stephen Harper's fault!".
Harper is damned if he does, damned if he doesn't.
If you have to order the bureaucracy to 'dig up' a certain number of terrorism stories every week ("ISIL or whatever" the memo says) then you don't really have anything to to tell us and you're just inventing stories for fearmongering purposes.
Imagine if Obama was caught sending out a memo ordering the bureaucracy to generate 3 stories per week on " global warming or whatever" or "income inequality or whatever". The Right would be all over it!!
Considering that:
1) 9/11 was 14 years ago. Madrid bombing was 11 years ago. London bombing was 10 years ago. B
2) The deadliest attack on the general public since those days was the Tsarnaev brothers
3) Canada is not
Well, that's just pathetic as usual, although not surprising, coming from you.
Here is a short list of attacks from 9/11, only in the West.
The list does not include Israel, and only includes successful attacks.

You just keep telling yourself that they are all lone wolves, they are all mentally ill, they are all depressed alcoholics; and most importantly,
it has nothing do with Islam.
You would think if they were as on top of things as much as they want us to think , they would never allowed a guy to run in and shoot up Parliament Hill. How in the hell did that happen if they were so knowledgable about the state of terrorism.
Zero preparation, and knowledge of the situation. Not unlike ignoring we have practically no manufacturing sector and they now are trying to mimic Liberal economics when we had manufacturing and wanted an edge with a lower dollar. Which is useless now. Not to mention a ruinous tactic.
They are inept ,and are more concerned with how the public VIEWS their abilities so they skew the moment with fear tactics.
They do this by spending hundreds of millions of dollars on propaganda action plan ads. with no action or plan.
This government is so inept in so many ways and on so many levels . It is obvious they have governed with a learn as they go paradigm.
Which is known to them ,and which is why they have this NEED to say Liberals are entry level. Why do Canadians buy this whilst forgetting Liberal economic wins of the past.
Trudeau's Liberals are not entry level anything, but proven.
With a bunch of Liberal party nonsense propaganda like that I remember know why you had so many other CKA'ers pissed off at you the last time you came through here.
LOL! Damn it! My decrepit old laptop was failing me earlier by several keys not working. Since my kid is on vacation, I thought i would borrow her Macbook air. Now thanks to you I blew a few ounces of bourbon through my nose all over her Macbook. I hope there is no permeant damage. I doubt that the warranty will cover damage due to bourbon saturation.
