A lengthy read that provides a great deal of information.
As an aside, I am generally leery of such journalistic reports, they are basically megaphones for the security apparatus, all police agencies use the media for their own benefit, but at least this is in regards to a legitimate National security concern rather than rabbit chasing or vindictive activities against a citizen. I believe in due process and rule of law, so who is going to connect his activities with a crime punishable by jail time or at least a court date?
Wynne has proven to be unconcerned with such matters in the past, as long as the OPP leave her alone and use their union for public endorsement she will give them a free ride and ensure high wages in turn and the OPP will go soft on her and McGuinty (criminal in itself). It's a Liberal trait in Canada unfortunately as the RCMP and Federal Liberal relationship has shown in the past (especially where Chretien was concerned) and it has done nothing but fortify Canada's place as a second tier democracy. This should never interfere with genuine concerns; so genuine that they "leaked", and/or provided the information in some form or another to the G&M.
When Wynne says that they investigated this relationship and advocates on Chan's behalf, does she not think they should be discussing how to provide some of the results that might be presentable to the public?
