FIFA corrupt. "Say it ain't so, Joe".

FIFA fits right in with that other unimpeachable, August institution. The International Olympic Committe

The FIFA Women's World Cup is here this summer (not that FIFA could give a damn about women). It'll be interesting to see if any of our local officials have been receiving "goodies".

It's a good start but ultimately will change nothing. Blatter will still be the godfather of FIFA at the end of the week and the status quo will carry on for years to come.

If you wanted to arrest everyone in FIFA for corruption there would be five people left in the the entirety of that diseased organization.

The only way to make FIFA change will be either corporate pressure or pressure from the various FA's boycotting the World Cup. Which is admittedly, wishful drinking on my part.

But tarring the 2022 World Cup as the slave labour cup could make corporations lean on FIFA to make changes.

I'm not so sure. I don't see those already arrested choosing jail time over snitching on Mr. Blatter.

Yeah, right. Like that is going to happen.

FIFA is second only to F1 for corruption, nothing will happen.

Interesting that the Swiss are now happy to execute US warrants for financial crimes.

    Another new thing.

I'm not so sure. We Americans currently have the odd combination of not caring about soccer and being extremely salty about not hosting the 2022 World Cup. The DoJ is out for blood.

    To misquote Frank Ocean

    Football fans in a mob?
What is a mob to a league?
What is a league to the world's game?
What is the world's game to an American?

Everyday country who had a bid for the 2022 World Cup should be hopping mad. It's so obvious a massive bribe was paid by the Qataris to host it in that million degree hot shithole. For that reason alone FIFA should be ripped apart by investigations.

And F1 is nowhere near as corrupt as FIFA. With F1 it's largely one guy. With FIFA its systemic.

Yep, and F1 and FIFA are small potatoes compared to the IOC.

Meanwhile how many Wall Street folks have been arrested for their part in the 2008 financial meltdown?

I dunno. IMO, deciding who is more corrupt, FIFA or the IOC is 6-5 and pick em' most days.
