Emma played very well and perhaps its players like her that will encourage other girls to take it up and make Britain's participation in international play possible.

Several other womens' teams have had pretty good goalies (China and Sweden IIRC) in the recent past, but the problem is the rest of the team is so bad that they get peppered with 70-80 shots and still let in 4 or 5 (at least) more than their teammates can score.

Scoring is the hardest 'skill' to develop and that is the one place nobody can match the North American teams.

Still, I agree that a change up would be good, especially because if it remains this unbalanced much longer, women's hockey might get bumped from the Olympics in favour of some lame sport from Europe like downhill yodelling.

Actually, I was agreeing with Thanos on how good the black team's passing and shooting was. Kind of impressive for 10 or 11 year olds with limited ice time. Skating wasn't bad either.

Don't know what he has against hockey since it's the only sport that naturally produces the kind of toothsome smile the Brits traditionally find to be so attractive.

Yeah wouldn't compare to the sheer blistering pace of footie. 22 men walking around a field for 90+ minutes and falling to the ground like they were shot whenever another player comes close to them.

Most good goalie coaches are teaching that style of goaltending and movement. It works so well.

My son's a goalie and this is exactly how he's being taught.
