A great musician who's influences can still be felt throughout music to this day. Without him and people like him we'd probably still be stuck musically in the 1940's which would have been the ultimate tragedy.
I lived in Memphis in the mid 90's and saw him play a few songs at an impromptu gig at his bar on Beale St. Only played 3 or 4 songs but I knew I was watching a legend.
Honor and tribute's are ongoing in Las Vegas to celebrate a Great man and music legend, king of the Blue's. Fremont St. Experience has been going since 0500 this morning. The Canopy over the Fremont will show his greatest hits and moments as a tribute. In the Words of a Showmen The Show must go on, even BB King was known to quote that.
RIP Mr. King you've earned it.
One of the first people I tried to emulate on the guitar. One of the greats.
RIP
Your music will live on forever.
R.I.P.
