A Toronto man who was in central Newfoundland for business last week got into trouble when the smartphone application he was using led him down a backcountry road.

    Seriously? Why do people do this? The little English accented (made in China) floosie says 'turn down this dirt road because you have a pretty mouth' and they do?

    I ignore civilian GPS navigation. Give me a map and an address and I'll find my way on my own, thank you.

    Ditto. Besides, with a map you can see more of the road ahead, so to speak.

    Mines got a rather heavy Mercan accent. My wife winces every time it speaks ... sometimes turns it off. She says that it's like nails on a chalk board.
