I've seen pictures of Kathmandu where 5-6 story building were cantilevered one on top of the other, definitely not a place I would want to be, even in a minor shake.
I'm actually looking forward to the zombie apocalypse.
The whole stupid mess coming to a permanent end would certainly solve a lot of problems. Sometimes it's better to let the crappy old house burn down altogether than to sink any more time, heartbreak, and money into the losing cause of trying to fix it.
It's pretty hard to be prepared when living in cities like this.....
Yet that's the exact place where more people to be prepared!

Earthquakes, forest fires, floods, tsunamis, blizzards, tornadoes, and socialists are all far more likely to cause disasters than dragons or zombies.
