How exactly does it benefit Canada to import a family with limited education and not able to speak English that can't find work? What kind of immigration policy do we have that allows people like this in?
The leftists who hate their own culture are behind immigration policies like this that actively seek to destroy Western civilization and Western culture so it can be replaced with something else.
currently going into the system to bring over my Austrian PhD fiancee... she's fluent in English as well as 3 other languages and has universities here interested in her already. If people like that get in and we meet with resistance I will be very upset.
Given the intensity of the freakout over a few problems with the eminently-sensible TFW program, the wise thing would be for you to expect the government to act like total dicks about it. It's not a case of them actually doing something (to correct a non-existent problem). It's a case of them needing to look like they're actually doing something (to correct a non-existent problem).
I disagree with most aspects of how immigration has been handled in Canada since the Trudeau era. Too many of the wrong kind were let in and too many of the ones (like your future wife) that would have made Canada a better place got unfairly jerked around by a system that responds more to media complaints and to politician/bureaucrat tinkering than it does to actual needs or problems. Unfortunately it will never change, if for no more reason than this is Canada and for some unknown reason Canada will always persist in doing things in the most fucked up, inefficient, illogical, and outright stupid manner that too many of us are capable of thinking up.
but yeah, my Czech friends were here for a year and then her company decided not to help her anymore with visa things and so even though her husband was working for a company that wanted to keep him, she was legislated out... so NS lost both... they still are trying to come back but they shouldn't have had to have lost their status already... at least we can maybe get some boat people from the Italians instead...

Bahhhh !!
If she is white as well, you'd better prepare yourself.
Slovak friend of mine married a Canadian, his family from Slovakia as well.
You wouldn't believe the bullshit she had to go through to get a visa for Canada.
Good luck, but you're gonna wait, university or no.

I think I covered that when I said she's Austrian
this process is going to suck, isn't it?

You have no idea, man.
Get married now, it might work a little easier.
Gibraltar works, as a Commonwealth member, they speak English and all the papers are in English.
As an EU person, your fiancee needs to translate her stuff once into English
and they are ok with that too.
And they have a factory type speedy wedding service.
Because you getting married in Austria, or her getting married in Canada,
is going to be a disaster.
Proinfo: friends got married in Slovakia, translating all the papers could have filled
a book.
And then she had to wait 6 months, to 'make sure the marriage was real'.
6 months no Canada, 6 months no hubby in Slovakia.
And that was 12 years ago, I hear it's far more fucked up now.
You will redefine the meaning of the word 'suck'.
