No reading on a school bus? What moronic rule.

Books can be very dangerous, dontchaknow!

That said, yea that's pretty much the dumbest thing I've heard so far this year.

they've pictured a full-length bus here... "might poke herself in the eye with the corners of the book" doesn't seem to be such a threat... ;)

Hey don't joke. Just recently a pedestrian was hit by a school bus in Laval, QC.

The bus driver was probably distracted by some 8 year old reading on the bus.

I know you jest, but my Mother In Law was a bus driver. I rode with her a couple times, and if a driver couldn't take a wild lunch kit in the back of head and keep the bus straight, I don't think they'd have been hired. ;)

If some kid was sitting quietly, the only distraction would be wondering what the little hellion was plotting.

The second line was definitely in jest. But the first line is an actual news story. A pedestrian really was hit by a school bus in Laval just recently.

$10 says the real issue is that the girl is reading an English language book. :|

Anyone remember the ancient SCTV skit where a 'doctor' warned against wearing underwear that was too tight because 'it could cut off your circulation and, um, kill you or something'? This bus driver clearly went to the same medical school as that doctor.

We'll quite easily survive the menace of the actively bad people out there, because they're actually very few in number. The stupid ones though, like this bus driver? They're the ones we need to worry about. Their numbers are literally legion and they're the ones that will finally succeed in destroying us all. Not out of malice though. Just out of sheer stupidity.
