Hmmm. I wonder what this story is. It seems to be a bit of a stretch that the civilian young woman just happened to be in the Shearwater quarters. I agree that no one should expect to be raped anywhere, any time but what was she doing here in the first place?

British hockey team? (... thinks Jamaican bobsled team)

Doesn't matter what she was doing there. Rape is rape....Full stop.

And this wouldn't be the first time that female civvies got brought on base.

She was there to party, more than likely. Party doesn't mean getting raped.

The weird idea you get that that's what he said is pretty retarded.

I absolutely agree with that but BE CAREFUL, GIRLS! A tad bit of common sense is required on your parts, too.

It is what he said, it's a point he constantly argues whenever this comes up. He has a bias of distrust towards woman who may have consumed alcohol or attended any event gathered with men involved, because he feels the intentions of woman at these events is openly sexual. He has this idea that woman ply men with alcohol so as to hatch their plan of cashing in on that sweet sweet rape money. He hears "girl who likes to party" and thinks "whore". Maybe some people like to fucking hang out.

I don't know where you get that interpretation.

It seems to me like you missed his point altogether.

It has happened in the past where a girl ended up in the shacks to shag, and then turned around the next day and said she was raped. Unfortunately it becomes a him vs her argument at that point. If there was any BDSM involved whatsoever (there usually is) then there would be evidence of a struggle and her argument wins.

Did Jian Ghomeshi write that for you?

I can't even imagine the mental calisthenics you had to go through to come to that conclusion.

    Party doesn't mean getting raped.

Truly, you are being a dink here.

Commenting about that which you clearly have no idea about.

There usually is BDSM involved? Do women who go to military bases to shag particularly enjoy BDSM? "hi, fuck me and hurt me?" Seems to me that would be uncommon, but what do I know. Is it that soldiers particularly like rough sex, as do women who want to fuck soldiers?

Just as some women lie about being raped, men who rape lie as well, so the odds here are that most reported rapes as you describe would be rapes, not change of mind in the morning. I'm wondering if your particular bias would be prone to believing the soldier in this case, vs the woman. My bias would be believing the woman if she has "signs of a struggle" on her.
