Labradoodle marketing fetches $2,500 puppy price

A puppy that sells for $2,500 in Canada isn't even a dog that cracks the Top 10 most popular purebreds. In fact, the Labradoodle never makes the Canadian Kennel Club’s list because although increasingly popular, it is not a purebred.

You have no idea how nutty these people are. ...it's like a religion. My brother and his wife are one of these people that paid $2,500+ for one of these pups. They traveled to Southern Ontario to pick it up AND they don't even get to pick which one they want. The "Breeder" meets with the people to get their "Vibe" and chooses which one they get.
Then they speak of these dogs as purebreds. Since I have actual papered purebreds you can see how our last family dinner went.
They are in the end just puppy farms.

They are the trendy dog right now and in a year or two you'll see these same "breeds" available on Kijiji for $100 or less.

I have no issue with mutts as I have owned a couple over the years and they were fantastic dogs but to spend that kind of money on a non-recognized breed with little to no standards is fucking ridiculous.

They got ripped off! You can get a great dog, for cheap, down at your nearest Humane Society.

Last one my sister got was from a Rescue Society, who found it on a reserve in a dump! Best dog I have ever met! What a happy animal.

Exactly. I have a purebred, registered GSD and I love her to death but I have also had Humane Society mutts that were just as well behaved at a fraction of the cost.

I had a purebred Labrador Retriever growing up. For years every litter around was a lab cross. For years our neighbour tried breeding his Shepherds....every litter was shepherd lab cross. Mind you the male wasn't very bright, as he was hit by a train of all things.
