A pair of 'angry' cows closed Highway 1 in Saanich Tuesday afternoon, and had to be lassoed by police after they escaped from their trailer on the way to the slaughterhouse

    So what word would you use?

    No universally used singular form in modern English of "cattle" exists, other than the sex- and age-specific terms such as cow, bull, steer and heifer.

    I would probably say the same thing he did if I didn't know how to tell the difference. :D
    Or maybe I'd say Bovine cause it's a cool word. 8)
