Vancouver is the best place to live in North America, according to Mercer's latest Quality of Living Rankings.

    Well, somebody living in an SRO in Vancouver would probably happily trade places with somebody living in a nice neighborhood in Detroit.

    Maybe the city as a whole whereas the reality of it totally depends on where in the city one lives, I don't think the DTES is ever figured into the equation.

    No, this survey is for global companies to set their compensation levels - ie high earners. Still, overall I can't think of a bigger city I'd rather live in. Certainly not in Canada. I'd rather live in a smaller town or even further out, but that's not possible right now.
