Well, the Romans had their own graffity artists - hic erat Kilroy? So it's a long standing tradition.

    Throw the book at them.

Fucktards deserve to get a fine like the one mentioned in the story. What makes anyone think that it's okay to fuck with ancient buildings, artifacts.

Add a few days in jail, just to let them think about what they did. 'Course the food in Italian jails is probably pretty good, wine with dinner, carve your initials in the cell wall.

You have got to be shitting me? 8O

And people have the gall to talk about the Taliban and ISIS destroying monuments to our human history yet, these two fucking halfwits think nothing of carving their name in a 1935 year old edifice to mankind's ingenuity and intelligence.

WTF is wrong with people?

Brains, or the lack thereof....This could be a bit of a hit to their bank balance as the fine paid by another carver worked out to be 20,000 euros plus a 4 month suspended sentence.

Rather than a suspended sentence they should have been made to stand watch over the Colosseum for the next couple of months to protect it from idiots, like themselves. Then, they may have gotten a much better appreciation for the wanton destruction that these monuments suffer from self entitled morons.
