Vega said he told the man his camera had captured him tagging the storefront and the man denied it.

“You know what, you’re under arrest,” Vega said he told the man. “I’m going to call the police and you’re going to stay right here.”

An altercation began and Vega said he hit the man in self-defence. He pulled out his cellphone and filmed a minute of the incident which shows the unidentified man weeping and bleeding profusely.

If this is in Canada, that store owner better have some solid proof that he needed to hurt that kid so badly. What injuries did the store owner sustain, for instance?

Kensington Market likes art.... ....One, is it art, and two did he ask the property owner if it's OK to use his property as his 'canvas'?

Hurt badly? He had a bloody nose and was acting like a little bitch, but I just knew you'd stick up for the criminal.

If this had happened in the states, the owner would have shot him... or the police would have gotten there before he had a chance... and then shot him. :?

I have to side echo Andy on this one. Based solely on the video and his statement to the Sun the owner was never attacked. He told the guy he was holding him for the cops but mentioned nothing of the guy resisting, nothing indicating he needed to "self defend". Lets assume the guy tried to walk away, a punch in the face is what you give him right off the bat?

If he was trying to hold him for the cops why did he let him run off? Clearly the guy was not going to willingly go anywhere, so why? Did he know he just jumped this guy and started bashing him in the face and if the cops got there he'd be in shyt? 90 minutes later after the guy ran off he called the cops? Why 90 minutes? Had to have supper first? Just a thought, did he have to review video to see if he was implicated in excessive used of force?

Its true this guy was crying like a little bitch, but how many guys in a real fight her one pop in the nose and stop fighting, not many. Makes me think this guy never wanted to fight or was blitzed. I've seen many fights and yet to see a willing and aggressive combatant get a bleeding nose and just decide to give up.

Just saying something smells wrong here and like Andy said he better have some solid proof of need to defend himself to the extent of hard contact.

If I were this owner I'd lose sleep at night worrying this kid will come forward. Lucky for him his tags are all over and identifiable so he likely is not looking to get his own charges.

Off the record (never is such a thing but it sounds good) poor little baby learned a lesson.

Well, that's the fine line. In my youth, if I acted up, some adult male would have done the same thing to me, and nobody would have had sympathy for me. There's good in that, men teaching young punks to fly right, but it can also get out of control.

The owner probably had most worry about the lawsuit that's possible here, especially depending on the age of the young idiot. Might be worth for the punk to get a slap on the wrist for tagging if he can make a few bucks out of this.
