Aboriginal Canadians plan cross-country ‘shutdown': ‘The system has failed us all miserably’

They are encouraging people not to send their kids to school.....yeah, like that's going to be a problem

This is the first we heard of it....mind you, if they blocked the road they might end up dead as there are about a dozen teachers(Native, Metis and White) heading to Mexico for a week.

Kind of odd to claim they're going to shut the entire country down on Friday but not make the press announcement until the middle of Friday afternoon. Stay in bed too long, sleepyheads? Gotta leave the house before noon if yer gonna stick to Da Man.

I guess their alarm clock failed them miserably.

Watched the noon news and they had about 50 people blocking an intersection to the Port of Vancouver while banging drums and chanting about Harper having to resign.

Then, apparently someone informed them that there were 2 other entrances to the port because their protest suddenly became a "symbolic" protest.

I don't know about the rest of the country but I'm getting very very tired of being held hostage by the same people we're paying huge sums of money to help integrate into Canadian Society. We paid for residential schools yet it was alot of their own people who didn't want them shut down.

Then they want money for the Gov't allowing their kids to be adopted by the evil white man in the 60's.



Sure residential schools were a mess and the kids treated terribly, sure the natives may have lost some of their culture and have been given a different possibly better life because of being adopted out but, FFS when are we going to have to stop paying for the alleged sins of our fathers because some whiny natives are to fucking lazy, stupid or inept to work for a living like the rest of us and figure they should get a free ride because of the colour of their skin.

When the Mohawk around here blockade something, they show up with several dozen Marine Corps veterans and real weapons (see Oka ... by no means unique). We didn't defeat them in battle. They were laid low by bureaucrats. The Mohawk were nibbled to death by ducks which is a fate worse than death for an authentic warrior race like those guys.

Mohawks are a race? The Haida here get all puffed up about how tough they were, kicking the shit out of all the other tribes. Course they don't like it one bit that the white man pushed them around. One chief here complained about how the white man has enslaved the natives (why are they never called the red man?) then went on to tell a story about his grandfather not letting his slaves do the delicate work around the home.

Scots need something to brag about, since they got their asses handed to them by the English.
