Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi said he's had complaints of councillors getting "blotto" at community events and using drugs.

    I like the way he throws everyone under the bus. No drug testing in Public Works Department, I would think there would be, in this day and age.

    The AUPE is still a fairly powerful group. If it's not in the agreement, it doesn't happen.

    I can just imagine what would happen with random drug testing! I remember when they implemented that at Syncrude. :lol:

    Random drug testing just catches pot smokers. THC and its metabolites are oleophilic, and so tend not to be excreted by urine very quickly (like crack, cocaine, alcohol, heroin, ecstacy, etc do). SO you end up spending massive amounts of money to find out that Walt the postman is smoking a fattie on the weekends.

    We're really getting prudish as a society these days.

    Ultimately, just like Rob Ford, the voters can elect somebody else.
