"I'm new to politics, so I didn't know it was not OK to lie." He should have just said that it depends on what the definition of is is. OTOH, is this really the media's business?

The media should only care if his fingers are in the till. Who cares who he is diddling?

Only if the city has it's own police force.

I don't really get that either. I guess personal and professional is considered to be the same for nosy ass people.

Then I hoe Saanich does not have its own police force. This sounds like an unworkable situation to me.
Also, spy-stuff on your work computer? That is insane.

The mayor is never chief of police. In Vancouver, likely many cities, he's the head of the police board, ie the board that hires the chief of police. If you've ever watched DaVinci's inquest, (excellent series) you can see the competition between chief and mayor - both are essentially politicians with their own power base. The mayor doesn't always win the fight.

You live in BC and ask how a town doesn't have it's own police force? Most of BC towns are policed by the RCMP.

And anybody with any brains knows that the media does care who you're diddling, and that lying about it just makes you look like a crook. Just fess up and tell them to get stuffed. We just had our election in Vancouver with "scandal" about the mayor getting divorced and having affairs. He won handily anyway (take that right wing carmongers). Now the big news is that he's screwing a Chinese (ie from China) performer, and seems to be taking a lot of fact finding tours to China. Fuck finding, more like.

Nobody cares who he's diddling. The problem is that his platform was open honest gov't something he's failed to supply so far especially with his admitted lies, allegations of police misconduct against him personally and the accusation that City Staff is spying on him personally. Although, on the plus side if you're so predisposed he's definitely been a distraction from that new hippie Mayor Moon Beam down the road in Victoria.

As for the good people of Saanich. You get what you deserve and Frank Leonard wasn't nearly as bad as you thought, was he? ROTFL

This just in. The Saanich City Council has reviewed the police investigation and found no wrong doing by any City Staff Members. As it turns out the Software was standard anti hacking software that's placed on all City of Saanich computers not just Atwell's.

Atwell has claimed he's stunned by the findings of both police and Saanich City Council and has said he'll appeal the decision.

My guess is that in about 6 months Mayor Atwell will suddenly reveal he suffers from the standard Bi-Polar disorder claim for people who fucked up and is now seeking treatment. XD

Seems likely. Except that he would deserve sympathy, not your scorn. It's an insidious disease.

Welcome to the world of spying. The NSA does it all and Canada innocently just asks for the paperwork. Look for lots more blackmail and exposures to come. With the cops from all sides of the political isle able to spy, basicly not need warrants any more. Anyone is able to be blackmailed into anything. Or exposed if they don't cooperate. Or just exposed and discredit all opposition. The rule of law and theft of Canada resources, it's sad to see nobody doing anything about it. Maybe we will be able to arrest the one true zombie Dick Cheney and his little monkey one day

The disease is insidious but unfortunately it's become this decades designer disease for Celebrities from Mel Gibson to Charlie Sheen, to Catherine Zeta Jones, to Lindsey Lohan, to use as a fucking excuse for their bad behaviour and that attitude and misuse of the disease is spilling over to the mainstream.

Why ARE so many people being labelled bipolar? More and more celebrities say they have it, but here a top psychiatrist warns the disorder is far too readily diagnosed, leaving many trapped on 'zombie' pills

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/artic ... -got-.html

My guess is that the Celeb's and regular miscreants don't get those nifty "zombie" pills because they're actually reserved for people who really have the disease.

But I will say one thing about Atwell. His actions and thought process is very much indicative of someone who's mental health is hanging by a thread.

I don't think I asked that, but whatever floats your boat...
