Smugglers who bring migrants to Europe by sea appear to have adopted a new and more dangerous tactic: cramming hundreds of them onto a large cargo ship, setting it on an automated course to crash into the coast, and then abandoning the helm.

    I saw some penguins do that to a container ship that was on its way to Madagascar, once.

    It's because whoever is staffing the boats now gets arrested.

    Of course, it's not worth their trouble, but the Italians now have to risk their own lives
    to intervene.

    Just sink the damn boats, end of problem.
