The federal government is seeking to resettle more Syrian refugees but only from the country’s religious minorities, according to sources close to discussions around Canada’s position on refugees from the war-torn nation.

We should be taking only Christian Syrians.

When the UN goes all blah blah about integration, it is obvious which groups 'might'
integrate into Canada, and which ones won't.

When I watch that I get the opinion the CBC has a side in this dispute.

Is that what they call bias? Cause I heard the CBC didn't have one of those.

CBC's bias is pretty much entirely towards the pukes in downtown Toronto and the college chattering classes. Everyone else they don't even consider to have a say. Most of the time I don't even think that they want to acknowledge that the rest of us even exist, much less acknowledge our right to have a say in things.

Sounds like a great idea. No wonder the CBC doesn't like it.

Hate to admit it, but probably cause a lot less trouble down the road. Look at the Somalian refugees. Although most of those that are a problem are just ordinary criminals - Christianity isn't going to prevent that. Nor the refugees flying back and forth to the old country. Read about some Somali refugee who's a taxi driver in TO, but flies back home to take on his warlord duties, gotta maintain that cash flow. Why we can't do a better job of policing something like that is beyond me.

We should be much stricter about who we allow in as refugees, take in fewer. But the ones we take in, we should be giving much greater support. Just letting them in and giving them welfare, when these people are so severely traumatized, is just a recipe for disaster down the road. Even if they are Christian. But maybe our Canadian Christian groups could do more here to adopt these people and look after and support them, with the govt paying for PTSD counselling.

Many of the Russian mob and Mafia are all Church going boys. Religious affiliation doesn't determine or limit criminal behavior. Televangelists.

Many of the Italian mob and Mafia are all Church going boys, too.

I personally have less trouble with the mafia than I do with street crime. If you told me to pick between Eastern European Mafia that are Easter Orthodox, or Somali small time criminal Muslims I know what I'd select.

The argument that the Mafia supplies the drugs to the street level criminals, so we should target them rather than the people doing the crimes that directly impact on my life is illogical. Someone will always rise to the top to make the money, a evolutionary pressure on the low level criminals not to bother or effect normal people will slowly make the average person's life better.

On topic, not that I care for immigration or racist, bigoted policies to start with. But wouldn't it be the most righteous to help the minority people first, the least privileged? Would that not be Christian minorities in a Muslim nation?

If we actually wanted the civil war to stop we should tell the USA, Israel and Saudi Arabia to stop giving the rebels weapons and materials. If we wanted to end the civil war we should be sending security forces to help the legal government put down the murderous rebels, maybe make a few friends with the Russians while we are at it.

Why aren't Muslim counties away from the fighting settling them?
Where is Indonesia, Pakistan, Saudi A., Iran,? Why aren't they settling the bulk of these people?

    A fitting joke.

A British Navy Destroyer stops four Muslims in a row boat, rowing towards Brighton .

"The captain gets on the loud hailer and shouts, "Ahoy, small craft, where are you heading?" One of the Muslims stands up and shouts, "We are invading England !"

The crew of the Destroyer all start laughing and when the captain finally stops laughing, he gets back on the loud hailer and says, "Just the four of you?"

The Muslim stands up again and shouts,

"No, we're the last four. The other 6 million are already there!"

Well you've got to admire their chutzpah. 6 million against 64 million.
