François Crépeau, a Canadian who is the UN’s special rapporteur for migrants’ rights, also said it would be “not cool” if the UK Independence Party was able to influence policy, or formed part of a future government.

They're calling this lunatic "Franky Crappo" and "The Ugly Canadian".

Just what we needed. Another international embarrassment.

In the latest attack on the UK by a UN official, Mr Crépeau said politicians here ought to stand up to the public and dispel what he described as myths about migration.

Uhhhhh...what? It's the politicians' friggin' JOB to listen to the people, or at least that's how it's supposed to work. Apparently idiots like Mr. Crappy have a problem with democracy when The People don't buy into some left-wing, social engineering bullshit fest.

Don't know if this was mentioned in the article, but among other changes Cameron is going to stop "immigrants" being able to claim welfare for children that are still living in the old country. I couldn't believe it when I read that. How insane has Europe become when you can move to a more generous country and then suck the money out to send back home. That's almost as bad as that German guy who had welfare pay for a condo in Florida, if I remember correctly. How do they even function with rules like that?

In apparent praise for the governments of Tony Blair, Mr Crépeau said it was a “multicultural, diverse, open society” which created “Cool Britannia” in the 1990s.

“If Britannia is ruled by the Ukip, or with Ukip-type policies, it is not going to be cool,” he added.

Jesus fucking Christ, leave it to a UN wonk to be this utterly fucking clueless about pop culture. I actually remember most of the 1990's. Cool Britannia was created by a new wave of underground rock bands taking a lot of drugs, and by not much more. To suggest that allowing wave after wave of unhindered immigration from Third World mostly-Muslim shitholes has anything to do with "cool" is about the most laughably unbalanced thing I've ever heard one of the big brains from the UN say.

What's wrong with what he said? His opinion is perfectly consistent with a world view of government as a ruler and not as a servant. It's a classical point of view where the people are supposed to be thankful for whatever crumbs of freedom and prosperity their munificent betters allow to them.

And those mere peasants who don't care to listen to their betters deserve to be ignored or even put in their place for their temerity to question the ruling elites.

WTF is a "Cool Britannia"? IIRC Cool Britannia disappeared when they shut down the Carnaby Street boutiques that were catering to miniskirt wearing stick figures. :P

This guy is just another half wit who's quite obviously completely at home parroting the party line from the largest den of iniquity known to man.

It's time to pass a resolution that forbids the cesspool known as the UN from interfering in any "democratic" country's internal affairs because everytime they do it's to circumvent democracy, push their warped agendas and benefit their favorite despotic client countries.

Better yet, we should just invest in a small tactical nuke and use it to clear the rat infested tenement at 40° 44? 56.4? N, 73° 58? 4.8? W.
