One of the most well-known junk food brands in the world is getting into the dairy business, rolling out a new brand of milk that the company says is much healthier than the stuff you grew up on.
Fairlife says its milk is higher in protein and calcium than traditional milk, and much lower in fat and sugar. The milk is lactose free, and has as much protein in a single serving as the equivalent amount of Greek yogurt.
Rrreally.. So what have they done to it, and what are they feeding the cows?
"Fairlife" huh? I'd be doing some serious investigating into that bit of what is likely false advertising.
Hope it's staying on the yankee side of the border.
Delicious, nutrient-rich, good-for-you milk with 50% more protein and calcium and half the sugars of regular milk, AND lactose-free… all the result of our nifty cold filtration. No protein powders, no synthetic supplements, no rBST growth hormones, no kidding. Just real milk at its very best.
Doesn't sound so bad. Wonder if they use grass fed cows or the same milk making as regular dairy farmers. AFAIK growth hormones are already banned in Canada - ie our milk is better.

Last I read, it seems only the SALE of rbst was banned in Canada - actual use, however is not under law (or at least is a grey area). Given the high level of integration in the Canada/US livestock industry I would wonder if its use might be common. Also IIRC, the laws that limit US milk from our shelves don't apply to "milk products" including chocolate milk, butter, cheese, yogurt and ice cream (insert shill: look for the "made from 100% Canadian Milk" label).
Also, fun fact according to Health Canada on cattle:
There are six hormonal growth promoters approved in Canada for use in beef cattle: three natural - progesterone, testosterone and estradiol-17ß; and three synthetic - trenbolone acetate (TBA), zeranol and melengestrol acetate (MGA). Hormonal growth promoters are not approved for use in any species other than beef cattle.
