Another anti-cop post.

Actually I worry about this sort of behavior by the arresting officer more than I do about some cop losing it in a stressful situation and pasting some guy. It's the cover ups and corruption that are really worrying, more so than the original offense by a cop.

Plent, no doubt, since they seem to do it so automatically, and get away with it. In this case nobody got hurt. In the Dziekanski case, somebody died, it seems obvious to anybody with a brain that there was collusion and attempts to cover up by superiors, and yet the first cop to go on trial for perjury was let off. In the case of he guy who got shot in the back of the head by a cop in "self defense" the video was conveniently not working and even the coroner and prosecutor seemed to want to protect the cop.

i'm sure there are many “professional courtesies” afforded to fellow officers. LE is a botherhood.

driving him home, not putting the cuffs on him, I have no problems with. Not taking notes, not giving a charter warning, so the cop gets off, different story.

Well at least he got fired. The guy is likely young being a new hire and as with many young new hires to policing he likely has little to fall back on. Never work in law enforcement again. So at least there is that.
