Washington Cathedral’s first Muslim prayer service interrupted by heckler

Kind of like that one from last year where the one woman alone protested in the German cathedral where Martin Luther had once proclaimed "I am standing here. I cannot do otherwise".



Some were calling her "the magnificent German woman."

There is a very long history of Christian churches being turned into mosques, permanently. In fact some of the biggest mosques on the planet fall into that category, such as the Hagia Sophia. In a world where Christians are being persecuted and executed for their beliefs specifically by Muslims, as we type this, I can understand why the woman is upset.

When I see a Christen service being performed in a mosque, I may change my mind. I know full well that it will NEVER happen.

I know you don't want to walk around the grounds of the Al Aqsa Mosque/Temple Mount wearing a kippah if their aren't soldiers around to protect you.

If you're talking about churches turned into mosques like Hagia Sofia you're talking about remodeling that was done as a result of Moslem conquest. It's another way in which Moslems fulfill Mohammed's command to make the unbeliever feel subdued.

It's interesting that in your link to the extraordinary event in Sacramento where they let the parishioners who lost their church hold an Easter service the article calls it "history, historical, and a one-of-a-kind event."

It's not easy to make it to the end of this one, but there's knowledge in it that most in the west lack. It's worth sticking it out to the end.

Gohmert's regularly described as one of the most genuinely stupid and most malicious TeaBirchers in Congress. As such it's really no surprise that you have him as one of your heroes.

He's using a very wide brush to paint all Muslims as extremists when he's an extremist too. His leap of faith is that all the Muslims present at the prayer service were also extremists.


I guess that Wembley Stadium shouldn't invite the German national soccer team this year... since WW1 was 100 years ago.

I want to talk to you though, because you seem capable of being reasonable, and I honestly want to know what this extremism is you see in Gohmert that justifies this blinding hate you feel, where you can't listen to him.

OK, but first here's what he says in the video...

He's putting forward the notion of how incongruous it is that an official Islamic presence should be invited into a Christian church in the nation's capital on the centennial of a day the Caliphate lined the road with raped and murdered, then crucified Armenian girls. There's a pic. They looked naked on their crosses. Kind of horrifying.

He then got into this idea that the Muslim Brotherhood is making inroads into the American government influencing the Obama regime and maneuvering how the justice department reacts to the terrorist threat. I've heard it before from the people involved. It's pretty well supported if you ask me.

But you tell me Gohmert is extreme himself, so he can't speak against a historical massacre of Christians or current threats and attacks, because it is hypocritical.

Very well, what is this extremist offense he's guilty of that's equal to the Armenian genocide, and the current persecution of Christians in Syria and Iraq? You keep telling me he sucks, but none of you seem to be able to tell me what he's supposed to have done.

I actually watched the video. I didn't get the idea he had a problem with the attendance of specific people. It was more recognize the threat and it's a mistake to normalize the extremism of the enemy. I think his attitude would be more, "If a Muslim wants to sit in pews and listen to Sunday service, no problem, but if the Muslim Brotherhood or some other sneak behind the movement wants to organize a Muslim call to prayer over-ruling the Christian service on the anniversary of the day an Islamic Caliphate conducted the largest massacre of Christians in history, there's a problem.
