Federal revenue will take a hit from falling oil prices but a return to surpluses is still expected next year – and possibly sooner – according to the fall economic and fiscal update

Looksl like the Cons have more or less blown the surplus before it even arrived - 1.9 bil out of 275 billion is pocket change. All to give upper income earners with kids a tax break.

But I guess If Joe Oliver can now claim that removing income splitting would harm low income Canadians, math isn't' his strong suit anyway.
