I recall reading about problems in the UK from pollution from women using birth control and how the treatment systems couldn't filter or remove the Ethinyl estradiol.

A suggestion was made to apply a tax on birth control pills to pay for the upgrades and modification to the sewage treatment plants was met with the expected shrill shrieks from female interest groups.
