The Bank of Canada is in hot water again over bank note design, just days after it revamped its policies to avoid more embarrassing controversies about the country’s currency.

Forster began an online petition that now includes about 44,000 names, including author Margaret Atwood and actor Kim Cattrall. Some 12,000 signatures were added in the last few days, after the bank's announcement.

    ....

"It's clearly discrimination against women," Forster said in an interview. "It perpetuates the myth that women are not nation builders."

    Well. let's be blunt.

Women weren't nation builders. Not in the past, anyway.

Prior to 1920, they couldn't vote or be much involved in politics.

Before that, major politicians, explorers, builders, businessmen, writers... all men.

Edith Cavell was a British nurse, not Canadian.

And we already have a British woman on or money, her name is The Queen. :)

The real problem is that loud mouthed bitches like Forster will get traction
because the rest of us won't sit down and tell her to STFU.

    44,000 out of 33 million ain't much.

Women on our money? Cornfound it, what outrage will they perpetuate next? I remember when men were men and women damn glad of it. And none of these unholy gender benders neither. None of these newfangled notions. No sireee bob.

Put womens' pics on our money, and pretty soon it will start fluctuating with times of the month. Just when you think you've got a dollar to spend, it will only be worth 75 cents real money, but when you owe money, all of a sudden it jumps to a buck and a quarter. Then it will demand that you take it out more often and go and buy shoes. But try to buy and V8 powered leaf blower, you won't hear the end of it about the waste. Finally it will say you take it for granted and just don't understand its needs and run off with some woman who knows how to treat it right, but be sure to keep sending the alimony. We've seen it all before.

As a woman, I would say it is clearly a non-issue and maybe you should find a better way to spend all the time you have on your hands.
I, personally, as a woman, do not give a flying f*ck who is on the bills and who is not. I spend too much time actually MAKING that money and providing for my children (spending that same money) to actually check (or more, search for) the faces on the bills.

She also noted that Australia, to whom the Bank of Canada looked for advice on its new plastic bills, features historic women on most denominations.

But that is not discrimination against men?

    Double standards, lady, double standards...

As an aside... The plastic bills SUCK.

Of course, that Commie, glory hound Margaret Atwood backs this.

I don't see what her problem is though. Isn't she already floating on the lake on the one dollar coin?

Come to think of it, who would be on these bills or coins? Celine Dion?

If she doesn't like her money I'll take it off her hands.

No, it ain't much at all. Who the f*ck gives a flying f*ck who is pictured on our money. Jeepers, it comes out of one hand and goes into another so fast who the hell has time to look at the pictures on it?

STFU about it already. Get a grip on reality you silly twat and put all that energy into something that actually matters.
