NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman is flattered that North American cities without hockey teams are interested in adding one to their towns, but it just isn't in the plans.
"wildrosegirl" said Thank God. They need to fix all the stuff they've screwed up in the current league before they add more teams to the gong show of a pot.
Gong show?
The league has never been better in all facets of the game and the business.

That's garbage. The league is characterised by greed and contempt for the fan by both players and owners. If it weren't then hockey labour issues wouldn't be as common postal strikes in the 70s.
As for paying a 100+ dollars for a single ticket so some 19 year old can have three hot blonds instead of two I'll pass and stick with the lunch bucket CFL where the boys on the field earn par with the fans in the stand and I have a more manageable 10 home games to attend instead of 50.
The only reason there's no current expansion plans is because Bettman found out there was no arena on Easter Island.
I'll call bullshit on this one. The NHL owners and their evil minion are so addicted to money that the only other revenue stream open to their veins is the ludicrously expensive expansion route. So if I were to be a betting man I'd say they're already picking American Cities to put over priced expansion teams in and this latest denial is just to placate the dreamers living in Hamilton and Quebec City who continue to believe they'll someday actually get an NHL expansion team.

Send the Coyote's to Sin City please!!! This place needs the NHL.
I'm thinking Quebec City or Hamilton should get a team before a desert city.

The fan base may depend too much on visitors..........leaving only the hookers and strippers with seasons tickets.
time to eliminate some of the garbage.

...leaving only the hookers and strippers with seasons tickets.
...and that would be a bad thing?

At least the players wouldn't have far to look.
