Derek Jeter capped his Yankee Stadium farewell with a game-winning single in the bottom of the ninth inning, the latest storybook moment in a charmed and illustrious career, to give New York a 6-5 victory Thursday night over the Baltimore Orioles.
One Hell of a way to end a 20 year career, everything from the weather clearing to the Orioles managing to tie the game 5-5 in the top of the 9th, thus bringing Jeter back to bat one last time......and then batting in the winning run. An amazing end to a truly remarkable career.

And to top it off, he's one of the good guys. For baseball's sake I hope he stays in it in some capacity.
I may not have liked him playing against the Jays (always seemed to make amazing plays against them), but from from I've read, he sounds like a pretty great guy and it's awesome to see someone play their whole career with the same team in this era.
This guy could very easily become the first player ever selected to the Hall of Fame unanimously, something we'll have to wait for for another 5 years.....

Kudos on an amazing career!
