What the CBC appears to be saying here is the real problem is not that illegal immigrants are ripping up the highways without licenses or insurance against the law of the land.

Apparently the problem is noticing it. We know this is true the CBC tells us, because some organization called "No One is Illegal" says so.

Gee CBC, these "No One is Illegal" guys must be pretty credible and important then.

Let's have a look at them.

    Ha Ha. ROTFL

Where does this "Turtle Island" crap come from, anyway?

I don't see what's wrong with that. It's perfectly fair and if there is anything untoward about anyone, they may get nabbed at a traffic spot check. It's not some sort of aggressive entrapment, or anything.

“They didn’t ID themselves as police or CBSA, they just told them to pull over and produce ID,” Ortiz told CBC News.

That's what cops do. Unless they were using ghost cars to pull people over, it's pretty hard to think it's not the OPP pulling you over with the classic black and white paint scheme and flashing cherries.

I've been pulled over a few times and not once did the officers identify themselves as "the police".

Indian word for North America. The Mikmaqs use it.

See, growing up in New Brunswick was worth something.

    Controversy my arse.

Immigration lawyer Guidy Mamann said this is “not routine” and is, in fact, “a huge breach of public trust.”

“In the guise of looking for safety issues … they are abusing that power and using it for whatever they feel like," Mamann said.

“Safety blitzes are to determine whether or not the vehicles are safe and roadworthy, not to determine what your immigration status is. They are not connected."

So if I get stopped during a safety blitz the cops shouldn't be able to nail me for some other offense unrelated to the reason I was stopped? So if they found 10 kilos of coke in my car they should let it fly, because it isn't connected to the roadworthy status of my car? If I'm inebriated they should ignore that too right... after all they weren't looking for drunk drivers.

    Tool.

What the hell was that? lol. Freeman on the land meets immigration abolishists? Hey crazy lady, next time don't smoke up before you go on TV, no seriously between her eyes half mast and inability to focus. More pot anyone?

As far as the story goes I like how the lawyer for the arrested says it was, "“a huge breach of public trust.”

No actually I TRUST CBSA to get those people the heck out. No breech done.

In order to have a conversation, we need to clarify the terms being used

Translation: In order to have a conversation, you must agree with my particular definition of those terms.

The other thing that kills me here is her retard logic. No one is illegal, yet she claims in racist undertones that Canada is an occupied land. Apparently, No One is Illegal and Ms. Kidane feel that despite this "illegitimate" occupation of Canada, everyone and anyone has the right to join in the illegitimate occupation of Canada.

She was right about one thing though, Canada does have a racist immigration policy. If you're White, you can pretty much forget about emigrating to Canada.

What a steaming pile of horseshit. Keep feeding your paranoia tho.

We take too in way too many immigrants. We take in way too many who don't seem to speak English/French adequately, we take in too many old people, we don't match immigrants with jobs. But we don't have a race policy. We had one, in favor of whites, but like other civilized nations we dropped that. Are you really suggesting we should have quotas for various races?

If our immigration policy was based on importing skilled trades, then it would be definitely slanted towards white European and east Asian applicants.

Well supposedly it is. And give Harper credit for making it more so. According to Brenda that's how the system works, immigrants are selected on the basis of language and skill. Maybe that's how it looks in boonieville, but in Vancouver there is a flood of people who don't seem to have good English skills. We have translators for them for various functions including getting a drivers license, they get beat up by the cops because they don't speak enough English to comply with their demands and so forth. In Toronto they are proud that they now have 911 service in 30 different languages.

If we insisted on good English and skills, our immigration would definitely be slanted towards Europe. Thing is, we don't get Europeans applying in anywhere near the numbers we do Asians.

I want Canada's immigration policy to be completely focused on what's best for Canada. (We have the refugee system for humanitarian intake). We shouldn't be importing huge numbers of people unless we really have the jobs for them - and we don't. Business loves it tho, because it keeps wages low. We shouldn't be importing parents and relatives just on the basis of being related.

I do think Canada should try to keep its European heritage and character. The reason we're such a successful country is because we imported European, especially British, ideas of how to organize ourselves. If we capped immigration at say 50k instead of the 250k we bring in now, those immigrants, doesn't matter where they are from, would adapt to our way of organization, instead of trying to create mini homelands for themselves in our cities. There's no racism in such a policy, since applicants would be selected on their individual attributes, not race. There just wouldn't be enough of them coming in every year to overwhelm us. Of course if you think this Eurocentrism is racist, you'll see my idea as racist.

Yeah, sounds like the authorities went beyond the bounds on this one. The purpose for stopping the vehicles is a safety check. It's not carte blanche to detain people to check their papers.

Yeah, that's precisely what I'm saying  Seriously man, learn to read. Gain some comprehension skills or something.

It's hilarious because you call it horseshit and paranoia yet you say
We take in way too many who don't seem to speak English/French adequately.

While later on you claim you're all for a Eurocentric immigration policy. Sounds an awful lot to me like you're all for race based immigration and want to buck the trend of the "other civilized nations".
Thanks for proving my point
