Hard to imagine somebody with his public image battling depression.
The two images together don't make sense.

He had a hard time with alcohol, too. Lisa was acquainted with him back about ten years ago when he still lived in his house in San Francisco's Pacific Heights. He was sober at the time (to the best of my knowledge) but about two years later was back to drinking one to two of vodka per day.
That contributed to a divorce and it was bad. He had this awsome dinosaur topiary in his front yard and when the divorce was final his ex-wife (who kept the house) had it cut down. It was just a real dick move on her part.
Geez. I'm not calling Mrs. Bart because I'd rather her hear it on the news than from me.
It's a wonder how the demons that haunt so many of our most talented are also the very source of their talent. I consider this guy to have been a major artist ... a manic one, albeit.
