Until the women's tourney can draw the demand the men's tourney does, they have no clout to enforce stadium changes.
Host countries will just tell them to take a hike...or not even bother bidding to host.
That may not be fair, but I would rather play on turf than not play at all.
All that being said, even with the turf, BC Place has a 2 star rating, which is 'technically' all that is required to host any FIFA event, outside of the men's WC finals.
I think these women start beliving their own press releases sometimes. Interest in women's team sports is probably about 5% of the interest that it is for men's sports.
What I don't get is why they are playing the games in Montreal at the Olympic Stadium instead of at Saputo?
Saputo doesn't meet capacity (30,000 min), security, or media requirements (625 sq m(min) between dressing room and pitch).

You know a lot about soccer!
You know a lot about soccer!
It was the only sport my parents could afford...and, I kind of fell in love with it, once I started playing.
But....shhhhh, admitting that you love soccer can get you lynched around here...
Actually, the bottom line is Canada isn't willing to pay millions of dollars to rip out our turf (then millions more to replace it) for a couple weeks of soccer. The gender of the players has nothing to do with it.
If they don't like it, then either don't play or petition to have someone else host it instead.

I don't think Canada would be paying. At least I hope not.
And I'm not even sure replacement is an option for, say, BC Place. They use that place for a lot of different kinds of venues--can you just rip up a sod field the way you can rip up turf?

I'm a huge fan. Same reason--couldn't afford hockey growing up. Volunteered to coach my son when he was five and here I am six years later coaching his team and my daughter's and playing once or tweice a week.

Has your diving improved?
Has your diving improved?
Exponentially!
Didn't you see the video of me in the Commonwealth games thread? Before soccer, I could barely manage a belly flop...now, I can simulate being gunned down by the mob, old school style, drive by with tommy guns and everything!
