So he tells the politically incorrect truth and has to resign?
My guess is that this is a punishment for not clearing his statements with the party before airing them rather than his choosing sides in the conflict.
Or it could be that Elizabeth May wants to keep her party policies confusing so there's no chance of any voters being able to say that the Greenies supported the right side, the wrong side or even any side in the Middle East.
“I condemn Hamas as a terrorist organization for sending missiles into Israel, but the Israeli retaliation and the invasion of Gaza violates international law and humanitarian norms,” May said at the convention.
Last Friday, amid the controversy, Estrin posted another statement on the party website. “My intention was to give my personal viewpoint to our members in the spirit of dialogue,” he said. “Some have mistaken my personal views to be the perspective of the Party and our Leader. Neither is true."
I think everyone could figure that his views weren't the views of the Green Party. His views make sense. Dead giveaway.
On Tuesday, party communications director Julian Morelli rejected suggestions that Estrin was forced to resign because of his pro-Israel views. We have an obligation to clear up any confusion with respect to our members and supporters, and this is how we do it (by having Estrin resign),” said Morelli.
"Delwin" said How many threads we going to open on the same topic. There are many opinions, should each get its own thread?
This thread really has nothing to do with Gaza/Israel. It's about punishing someone for daring to speak their own mind and giving their personal opinion, IN CANADA.

It's something that should concern us all.
Better watch out, the thought police are coming for you.
Elizabeth May willingly shows up at rallies where assholes are waving Hezbollah flags. She also has public media fights with members of her own party that don't share her 1960's-style antipathy for the Canadian military. At this point in the proceedings with this particular party leader I's surprised that anyone is actually surprised that the Greenies would skew even further to the far left by openly punishing one of their own who isn't a true believer in their pro-militant/extremist/terrorist beliefs. Goofy tree-hugging fuckers probably have an annual donation to Hamas as a mandatory requirement of their membership package.

So he forced to resign.
Frankly, I think Elizabeth May's policy of engaged neutrality isn't bad. The only better one would be disengaged neutrality.
See my answer to your question in the Gaza thread.
Oh, did I ask it already? I'm getting senile.

The only opinion that matters is MY opinion. In my opinion, anyway. Which is the only one that matters.

Good. It's been quite a long time since I told anyone to go f*ck themselves.
