The victim of a suspicious death at the Pemberton Music Festival Friday has been identified as 21-year-old Nick Phongsavath from Regina.

Phongsavath was found dead inside his tent just after 6 p.m. Friday. All attempts to revive him were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sgt. Jennifer Pound, a spokeswoman for the RCMP?s Integrated Homicide Investigation Team, said Saturday that no arrests have been made and IHIT has not identified a suspect in the death.

?IHIT is working closely with the Sea to Sky detachment and have been interviewing witnesses and speaking with event attendees throughout the night,? she said. ?At this point, there is nothing to confirm or definitively rule out foul play.?

She said Phongsavath?s body has been removed from the scene and she expected the cordoned off area would reopen Saturday night. An autopsy will be required to determine the cause of death.
