Not surprised one bit that a Liberal politician in Ontario doesn't do a day in jail.

It's almost like the $1700.00 dollars was the defining reason for his non sentence. My guess is the judge was bought off because anybody else would have given him alot longer and likely a prison sentence based on the fact that, despite him getting caught for this minor forgery and fraud charge, as a politician you can bet your ass this is only the tip of the iceberg. :P

A public official, providing a false document for compensation. He should have received a jail term, 4 to 6 months, community service, perhaps a 1000 hrs.
Does send a message, which is what the judicial system should be sending.

We don't need more people in jail for stuff like this... but he should be hit where it hurts the most. A VERY hefty fine, 10 times the amount of the fraud or more, and I'd like to see the possibility of forfeiting government pensions.
