It's Time for a Conservative Global-Warming Agenda - Big-government progressives are destroying the economy and not saving the environment. Conservatives can do better.

Conservatives should adopt a new strategy in the battle over global warming. Rather than falling back on the claim that global warming isn?t a problem, conservatives should take a page from liberals? playbook and use the issue to pursue policies they already favor. What we need is a conservative climate-change agenda that shrinks the size of government and uses a small portion of those savings to help do a few things better.

While many on the environmental left tend to overstate their case, there?s little doubt that the climate is changing and that human activity plays a major role in this shift. In fact, not even those conservatives whom the left unfairly tars as ?deniers? dispute that the Earth has gotten warmer or that a buildup of greenhouse gases traps heat energy.

I don't know if he's serious or not, but it's dumb enough the Republican establishment might try it.

Might have had some possibilities 7 years ago, but it's too late now.

The biggest, fattest rats of the left are scurrying off the good ship global warming these days. True, over on land there's still little field mice squeak, squeak, squeaking about "climate disruption" out in the field, but the real money is shifting over to finance stuff like anti-fracking, or anti-pipeline propaganda.

Not all oil and natural gas is bad now, you understand, just western. Apparently Oklahoma fracking is causing earthquakes all of a sudden. Not so much all the new fracking in China though

If you remember the last scene from Animal Farm the new version would go something like, "Fracking, Keystone, tar sands ba-a-a-ad. Soros Brazil oil, Gasprom natural gas control, Middle East oil domination ba-a-aht-t-er." The climate change bleats are slowly quieting down.

So let's say the right moves over to say, "Hey, we're all about the global warming now".

All of a sudden we'll discover the "science" wasn't so rock solid after all, and hey, did you know there's been a 17 year pause in warming...no really. Oh and there's a 97% consensus of real scientists saying if Fracking doesn't stop in North Dakota earthquakes are going to level the Rocky Mountains. Why? You don't think you'd believe that. You believed your children wouldn't know what snow was, the arctic ice would be gone, and Manhattan would be under three feet of water by now.

Next thing we know history is rewritten and it's the right who's responsible for the whole catastrophic warming scam that's been happening ever since the inconvenient goof was a bigshot in 2007. Oh and btw did you know he was actually a Republican. Why? You don't think they'd try to sell that one. Hell, you've already bought the lie Lincoln was actually a Democrat, and the "southern strategy" was something more than out the butt BS from a Progressive planted in the Nixon campaign.

The writer of that column is involved in the insurance industry who make their money out of assessing risk. Given that they lose if they do not adequately assess risk, their underwriters don't have the luxury of ideology.
