A 59-year-old Burnaby man was shot and seriously injured while taking part in a randonneur road cycling event in B.C.'s Fraser Canyon this weekend.

    Hope they catch the bastard. Randonneurs do these `brevets to work up to the 1200k Paris Brest Paris, which must be completed in 90 houre.` The Rocky Mountain 1200k goes from Kamploops to Lake Louise and back. Some people do it on a fixed wheel bike - insane.

    There are no support crews or anybody else helping these riders - find food, catch a few winks whereever they can.

    Standard BC issue pick up truck.
    White early 90's GMC Sierra with the box rusted out halfway up the cab, no rear bumper or tailgate and the plate hanging from the frame by a coat hanger . Driven by some toothless hillbilly who's married to his first cousin.
