The oldest known orca in the world was spotted near Vancouver Island this past weekend, marking the grand matriarch's annual return to her home waters just in time for Mother's Day. The whale, known as "Granny" or J2, is estimated to be up to 103-years-ol

    One of the "rules" for mammals is the larger they are, the longer they live. Mice, 2 years at best. A Bowhead Whale can be 250 or more (estimates), one was found recently with a harpoon in it from the 1890's.
