RIALTO, Calif. — Whether the Holocaust happened is no longer up for debate at Southern California’s Rialto Unified School District.

" Jafri and interim Superintendent Mohammad Z. Islam, De Anda said." Big surprise there I figured they would be Italians. Come on Andy, Beaverfeaver,Gunnair and Zipperfish start your liberal apologist responses.

The closest might be Keegstra. He was a teacher.

The last I remember hearing of Dukes he was supporting those morons at Occupy having failed as a candidate for the democratic party.

David Irving was a writer of revisionist history.

Ernest Zundel was just a big fat German loud mouth in a hard helmet who published propoganda pamphlets.

Texe Marrs is a nutty radio evangelist writing and preaching for some made-up ministry.

Best guess is Mohammad Z. Islam is some sort of Islamist practitioner of soft Jihad, like those scarey jihadis with the trojan horse schools in the UK. But yeah, Andy might have something like a point. Mohammed and his fellow school jihadis might fit into a grouping with a crazy fool like Keegstra with a little nudging.

BTW, I forget. Did Mohammad get convicted of a crime and lose his job like Keegstra did? One would hope so.

Of course not. That would be racist. XD

Isn't it the job of the district to teach rather than to take a poll of students who have no clue?

Well somebody fucked up, and although the interim superintendent's name makes this story sound almost like an Onion-esque parody, I honestly don't think the interim superintendent would bother with picking assignments for classes. It's a bit above their paygrade, Somebody fucked up though.

"New York Post", the first clue that something is amiss with this story.

Eh I've seen it in a few local media outlets, so it actually did happen.

Just a few links for you to pick from:

Reuters: http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/05/ ... BD20140506 (A bit iffy on the wording of this one by saying the debate over the scale of the Holocaust and this assignment)

    National Post: http://news.nationalpost.com/2014/05/05 ... as-a-hoax/

One of the better examples that have scans of the assignments.

Now...I KINDA SORTA see what they were trying to do. "Here's stupidity. Refute said stupidity." Except it more comes off as an anti-Jewish and anti-Israel ravings, while coming off as factual.

    Here's some more.

    http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-m ... story.html

    http://www.sbsun.com/social-affairs/201 ... rintendent

But here's the interesting stuff. We read past the word "Interim" too quick when they tell us Mohammad is the Superintendent.

Mohammad Z. Islam, associate superintendent of business services has been the 26,485-student district’s acting superintendent since Cebrun was placed on administrative leave in September.

See what happened was Cebrun had a little hootchy gootchy on the side named Judith Oakes, and she worked under him in more ways than one if you catch my drift. When last we heard Judith was charged with embezzling $1.8 million.

So Cebrun has to go, Mohammad steps in and during the following term this new class assignment turns up in the classroom syllabus.

Antisemite crap. The Simon Weisenthal guys hear about it. The ADL hears about it. Outrage.

OK, so now we'll let the apologists at the LA Times take over so no concerned soul gets the vapors over bias (meaning of course the bias the complainer doesn't favor).

School officials say the assignment has since been pulled and will be revised.

“This is a bad mark on our record and we will fix it and move forward,” district spokeswoman Syeda Jafri told the Los Angeles Times.

A group of teachers and the district’s educational services division created the assignment, but Interim Rialto Unified Supt. Mohammad Z. Islam was not aware of its topic until school officials received an email about it, Jafri said.

Islam was “deeply disturbed” by the assignment and acted swiftly, she added.

“Once in a while things fall through the cracks,” Jafri said.

But here's the problem with fast talking Mohammad out of blame. Who gets the blame then? Sorry Sandy, you're not going to like this, and this is not from the New York Post.

“ADL does not have any evidence that the assignment was given as part of a larger, insidious, agenda,” the blog post read. “Rather, the district seems to have given the assignment with an intent, although misguided, to meet Common Core standards relating to critical learning skills.”

So it's either another example of trojan horse Jihad, or another illustration of how Common Core screws up. Go ahead Obamaites...choose.

You really should take your Meds and Read your links.

"A group of teachers and the district’s educational services division created the assignment, but Interim Rialto Unified Supt. Mohammad Z. Islam was not aware of its topic until school officials received an email about it, Jafri said."

    and

"...write an argumentative essay, based upon cited textual evidence whether or not you believe this was an actual event in history or merely a political scheme created to influence public emotion and gain wealth..."

Along with this Assignment, writings were provided as Sources. One source was Historically accurate, another was Conspiracy based. The Assignment was to gauge the Students Critical Thinking skills. The only real "controversy" here is a mixture of poor Media coverage and the inherent sensitivity of the Subject itself.

You really would benefit from having better Critical Thinking skills.

The mind control that Fiddle Dog and his ilk seem to be worried about seems to come from them in this case. Don't have students critically evaluate the evidence so they come to their own conclusion about the holocaust, but just shove the truth down their throat. Talk about being pc. The more you take that approach, the more likely you are to create holocaust deniers in reaction. I don't agree with Germany making denial illegal, "ve vill all haf the zame opinion". What are people afraid of exactly?

Look out, rightie tighties, next up they will ban climate change denial.
