Gas price jump 'doesn't make sense'

Drivers looking for a good reason for major gasoline price jumps across Canada overnight will be left lacking, as the usual seasonal influences don't add up to those types of increases.

I know NAFTA is a bitch, but I wonder if the US and Canadian governments can work out a deal where Canada is allowed to, and the oil companies are subsequently required to produce all the fuels required for domestic demand from domestic sources. Rational being that full domestic production in Canada would lead to economic stability (win-win for both countries in the long run), and security. The more domestic production we have, the less we have to rely on and be concerned about securing shipments from other parts of the world... Particularly should things flare up with Russia or China in the future.

I totally agree. I fail to understand why we have to ship our oil anywhere to have it refined. I know that people are going to say that the expense involved in refinery construction is massive but we have the oil so why not an investment in Canada rather than abroad?

Of course it makes sense. The heads of the oil companies ran out of gold coated TP.

They claim they're slow on beefing up the gasoline supply because the refineries were too busy producing heating fuel due to the extremely cold and extended winter. Considering that Lake Superior allegedly still has ice up to 18" thick on it they may be telling the truth this time.

Ah fuck it. They're lying and gouging again like they always do. Basitches!

    "It doesn't make sense,"
    says Dan McTeague, former MP

Dan McTeague needs to fuck off.

This useless sack of shit sat in the House for years and did fuck-all for gas prices.

He was the "gas buster" before he was in office, the useless turd in Office and he's the "gas guy" again.

Shut his mouth, retire and fuck off.

He did nothing in government. Not a damn thing! He stopped talking about gas prices by order of his party.

So the opposition is supposed to do something about gas prices, but not the govt?

This has been going on for decades. Yesterday's opposition is now the government ... the once and long time government is now the opposition. There is nothing to be done about this very powerful oligarch, apparently.

THEY know where their bread is buttered even if McTeague didn't get it.
