A navy destroyer was left with six punctures when a tugboat crashed into it, and then four lines snapped one after another as the warship was being towed from Ontario to Nova Scotia, a military report says.
This has nothing to do with the lifespan of the ships and everything to do with an accidental collision at sea.
I'm assuming they fixed the punctures by now, especially considering she's been operational for over a year so it shouldn't be an issue.
But, with that being said we do need new ships and the Gov't should have gone ahead with the C&C Frigates they planned to build in the late 90's instead of waiting till they were down to 2 operational Flag Ships both of which were on the East Coast.
