The B.C. government is permitting beer, spirits and wine to be sold in local grocery stores through separate cashiers.

It's the extra stop that bugs me. Having friends over for dinner so have to stop at the teh Safeway adn tehn drive for the beer and wine.

The price is pretty regulated by government so I'm not sure if we'll see any drop in prices due to increased competition.

I didn't think it'd happen in Canada at all.

I don't mind. The liquor store is closer than the nearest grocery anyhow.

Son, you need to get out more! Already happens in Quebec.

In Taiwan you could buy your booze(beer, wine and spirits) in the convenience store and all grocery stores. There were also specialty bottle shops for harder to find and more expensive imported vintages....or Kahlua and Bailey`s. The university Sleven had tables set out in front, and after work we`d go over grab some soba noodles or a curry and a beer and relax for a bit.

ALCB stores have been gone from Alberta for over 20 years.

BC finally getting with the times. Does that mean 1000s of union shmoes will lose their jobs

Still can't buy booze at the grocery store though

Pretty sure this means they're ahead of the times.

Not a big fan of unions myself, but celebrating thousands of lost jobs is pretty douche-y
