Saskatchewan wants the federal government to immediately oversee talks between grain companies and railways to set parameters for getting grain to port. Economy Minister Bill Boyd says there need to be service agreements with financial penalties for both

But . .but. . eliminating the Wheat Board will give farmers a choice!
This would be really funny if it wasn't fucking with the livelihoods of prairie farmers. Bins full of product they can't move. The longer they can't move it, the less they'll be willing to sell it for... ...I could go on.

Yet their service to producers has decreased while lengthy delays and backlogs continue.
Farmers’ livelihoods rely directly on grain transportation. The price of grain varies from day to day and if farmers can’t move their grain when they need to, they can’t get paid for it.

Canada’s grain producers have bills to pay now. It’s time for action to get Canada’s railways moving.
