A Japanese whaling ship and a protest boat have collided in the remote, icy seas off Antarctica, and both sides are blaming each other for the crash.

From that angle it looks like Sea Shepard rammed the whaling vessel, not the otherway around.

Hope they sent that whaling ship home at least.

I hope that one day the self described pirates of Sea Shepard get treated like pirates by a JNSDF ship.

Only if they actually start acting like pirates. I keep saying if they want to make that show interesting/actually stop the Japanese from whaling, they need to take some of that donation money and buy some deck guns.

Ramming ships, boarding ships, trying to damage ships underway is what then? Just 'accidents'?

I said pirate because it's nicer than what they actually are by any reasonable definition of the word, Terrorists.

First time they shoot a gun at a Japanese flagged vessel the JNSDF will put and end to the problem.

If they wanted to reach their goal of stopping Japanese ships from hunting whales the best solution would have been to ignore them. The program was going to come to an end because no one wanted the meat and it was costing too much money. But then a fat white guy rubbed the Japanese's nose in it and has made it an issue of national honor.

Yeah, that would be quite the over the top response to hunting some Minck Whales, otherwise known as the "cockroaches of the sea". Why not install some torpedo tubes while you're at it?

    .

I'd say it's useless above everything else. South Park really made fun of these guys a few seasons back and they're still as spot on as ever. As much as I'm on their side, they are nevertheless a bunch of pussy hippies who don't accomplish anything.

If Sea-Shepard's use any weapons ie Deck Guns and any Naval or Coast Guard are near by it's lights out forever for the Sea-Shepard's. Remember your CCG rammed one a while back, Salute to the CCG. Using the word Terrorist is perfect fit for the group as is Pirate.

No fan of Sea Shepard, but I'm also no fan of the "scientific whaling" which is a complete load of horseshit.

    Let 'em go at it.

Maybe the next time one of these idiots hits a Japanese ship, the Japanese can circle around the people in the water preventing the others from rescuing them. They can claim that they are protecting people in the sea from being harmed.

Japanese vessel was displaying the Ball-Diamond-Ball which means it is restricted in it's ability manoeuvre. So who rammed whom is immaterial, the Sea Shepherd vessel is required by maritime law to keep clear. Sea Shepherd captain should be charged.

Is this a normal signal for restricted mobility?
