The Edmonton Oilers traded the veteran goalie Dubnyk to the Nashville PredatorsWednesday afternoon for feisty left-winger Matt Hendricks, then proceeded to peddle a third-round pick to the Los Angeles Kings for netminder Ben Scrivens.

The problem was never Dubnyk. He was an adequate goalie - not a superstar but capable (his stats over the past five years were at/above league averages).

The problem is the lack of defence on this team - in stead fo always drafting high-flying forwards, they should have been adding some defensive help, either in the form of two-way centres or better defencemen.

Why fix the actual problems when you can do some meaningless name changes and keep profits in pocket?...I mean butts in seats....
