The security for Canadian Prime Ministers is pretty pathetic.

Didn't Chretien get pied one time?

One of the activists, a male, stood behind Harper holding a sign that read "Climate justice now."

    WTF is 'climate justice'?

Jason MacDonald, a spokesman for the prime minister, told CBC News in an email, "we don't comment on security-related matters."

Security related gaffs you mean? I mean come on, they just sauntered into the room, onto stage and were able to stand there a moment before anyone did anything. Way to go RCMP!

I think so, but he also KO'ed some protester. I suspect Stevo would have to hire the leader of the third party to do that for him.

There has to be a happy medium between the PM's security detail and the military division that is the US President's security detail.

I doubt the dude holding the sign could give you an answer that isn't completely nonsensical.

If all that they do is hold up signs, the worst that can happen is the world is accidentally made a better place.

At least all they were holding were signs and that they allowed themselves to be lead away quietly by security otherwise the headline would be very different.

There are some nutbars out there that would have used that opportunity to create some real damage.

Hopefully the sign-holders will get more creative.

Given the number of psychopaths that are gunning for a US President at any given time, especially nowadays, a full military-grade level of security is completely justified.
