I sense a VERY empty auditorium at Christmas.

I sense a thorough egging of the administration(likely all white, and card carrying members of the federal NDP) come All Hallow's Eve.....and not necessarily by students.

This is right up there with being forced to go to pow wows as a kid in school. I'm sorry this may sound racist but if you have been to one pow wow you have pretty much seen them all.

Besides what on earth is to stop the school from simply hosting the drumming on one night and the concert on another? This is so stupid they could have avoided controversy simply be doing it all rather then picking and choosing.

Let students pick what they want to attend.

    Voting NDP alters everything.

Left wing liberal white guilt bs strikes again. Why don't they just cancel Christmas vacation while they're at it? I'm sure the same teachers who imposed this bs wouldn't want to miss two weeks off...lol

Although. It's pretty smart of the School District to distance themselves from the inevitable fallout that this completely idiotic decision by the thin skinned, politically correct, we know what's good for you, our decisions shall not be questioned, group of social engineering hacks that run this institution made.

Once again it's the children of parents who can't afford to send them to private school who are being held hostage by a bunch of white apologists that are trying to assuage their self induced guilt by ruining the lives of everyone around them.

Now if this supposed progressively forward thinking group of lemmings can just find enough Africans to form a drumline they might just be able to pull it off. XD

This was just upping the ante. The dumbasses stirred controversy by removing any and all references to Christmas from their 'Winterfest' last year.

It's been going this way in the land of social engineering for awhile. When my eldest was in Grade Four, they called it Winterfest as well. They talked about Hanukkah and Kwanzaaaaaaaaaaa in their plays, but there was no mention of Christmas. There was a lot of grumbling from the audience about this, and many of those who complained were not Christians and weren't long time Canadian residents. Keep in mind that the assholes who pull this shit are usually white, middle aged, card carrying members of the federal NDP, who figure that teaching LGBT issues are more important than teaching math, science and ELA in primary school.

The largest visible minority group in Winnipeg is from the Philippines......and about 95% of them are hard core Roman Catholic

 So do you think the "put Christ back in Christmas" group will clash with the "let's PC everyone to death" group? If they do I sure hope someone is selling tickets

First reaction was pretty much the same as the rest of you, but on a little more thoiught I've decided to be a little patient here. I'd like to hear the schools reasoning, for starters. I'm also curious about the demographics of the school in question. if it's student body has somehow ended up being 90% African, perhaps this is a more appropriate concert than a Christmas concert would've been.

That said, don't mess with Halloween. A few religious folk aside, Halloween is one of the rare "holidays" that can be a shared experience for all kids.
