Shots reportedly fired outside U.S. Capitol building

What would the Tea Party's motive be? "The House is taking a principled stand against government-subsidized universal health insurance. I better kill them all!"?

My theory is that whoever the shooter is, they hold political positions different from mine.

If they go around shooting and killing people, hopefully they hold an entire belief system that is different from yours.

Most likely another moment of DC's unending "urban youth" crime occurring, or another moment of 2nd Amendment exceptionalism erupting and some zombiefied stockpiler has decided his moment in the spotlight is now to "teach the gummint a lesson!". Or terrorists maybe but, compared to the other too, terrorism actually remains a very rare occurrence.

We should get some kind of betting pool going when these things happen, like Over/Under at the lotto booth or something. X-axis is number of victims (wOOt! high score!) and Y-axis is motivation. Whoever wins gets to leave work early and go home for a nap.

CNN (so consider the source) has sources saying a high-speed chase ended at Capitol Hill and the man running from the cops didn't want to give in. Of all the places to go to get away from the cops, Capitol Hill is the worst.

Also sounds like the lockdown is being lifted.

None of the above. Reports are a white female tried to ram the Whitehouse gates, and was shot and killed.

Last I read it was a women who tried to crash through the White House gates. After the unsuccessful attempt she raced to the Capitol with police in pursuit where she was apprehended. One officer is injured (who was on the job despite not being paid) as is the psycho bitch driver. A small child was found in the backseat of the car as well.

The only way this could be weirder is if baby is Obama's love child and the woman is the scorned mother.

The pictures of the woman being taken away in a stretcher after the event clearly show a heavy black female. Unknown if that is the driver of the car. The Sgt. at Arms for the US Capitol is on FOX saying that it doesn't look like the woman was armed - meaning potentially all of the shots fired came from law enforcement. Also it's currently unclear if she had a child in the car and, if so, if that child is still alive.
