It may not time travel, but the DeLorean sports car is finding its way into the future.

I've only ever seen one DMC-12 in the flesh (so to speak). Somebody in Thunder Bay has (or had) one. Wish I could have talked the owner into letting me take her for a spin.

    Very iconic car.

Joke going around before the movie was that if you seen a DeLorean break in and rip up the seats you might find a bag of cocaine.

Thats actually slow compared to some of todays super electric cars, like the Tesla, which does it in 3.something. Unlike an internal combustion engine an electric motor can put down 100% of its power and torque instantly and then keep it there. It doesn't need to rev up or wait for the turbos to spool up to get into the peak torque band. And usually there are no clutches or gears to mess with. Just one speed.

Its the battery life, recharge time and expense that make todays electric unpractical and expensive.

Seems like a lot of money just to make an ugly car even uglier. :D

I remember that one too. Think he bought it from a dealer in Two Harbors, Minnesota. Haven't seen it in decades though.

0 to 96 in five seconds for an electric car?

    Lol

I honestly don't get why they didn't say 0 to 88 mph. Come on, milk the Back to the Future references!
