A third player with the Saskatchewan Roughriders has been charged with aggravated assault after a bar fight. Regina police say Eron Riley, a wide receiver, was arrested Thursday night and is to appear in court today.
I'll wait for the trial to actually make a call but they still only have the beaten man's side of things too. For all we know the other guy struck first and the others were backing up their fellow player (could be the other way around but I hope they didn't).
There could be more to the story aside from an alleged assault.....
On the same morning the two football players made their first court appearance, their alleged victim was in another courtroom in the same building, making his own appearance on charges in an unrelated matter.
According to court files and information from police, the alleged victim was charged July 18 with possession and trafficking of cocaine. That case, in which eight people are charged, is still before the courts.

My bet is on the dealer did something to one of them and then the other two jumped to defend him. Something about this is strange, like the fact we have no information at all except that they are accused of assault.
On the Rider Forums it was insinuated by some individuals that the alleged victim was on probation and was going to be charged with breaking his probation conditions which included not being in any establishments that served alcohol.
But, I'd say wait till we hear both sides of the story and get the witnesses statements before trying to make informed decision.
Thankfully this team is chock full of veterans so the impact of this shouldn't be nearly as bad as the Kenton Keith incident was a few years back. BTW his charges were stayed which may just happen here when it all comes out.
IF it's as bad as it sounds, kick 'em out. Grey cup isn't worth it.

And here I was expecting a story about someone getting hit with a banjo!
That hasn't happened since the toothless, mullet wearing, Troy Westwood retired.
